In Turkish Music instrument performing, tanbur has been very popular due to its ability to meet the requirements of our music. In addition to this, many names in the performance of tanbur from past to present have contributed to the development of this instrument with their unique styles. Izzettin Okte, who was considered to be the biggest tanburi of 1950s, is one of the names that should be mentioned at the very beginning. The aim of this study is to determine the ornamentation techniques, expression elements, plectrum usage and maqam usage of İzzettin Ökte in terms of Buselik taqsim. The scanning model was used in this study. Literature search was made in order to reach the written sources about İzzettin Ökte and archive search was performed to reach the distribution of Ökte. The Buselik taqsim of İzzettin Ökte was noted and findings were obtained using the categorical type of content analysis. The findings were explained in detail under the sub-problem headings. In the light of the findings, it was concluded that in the performing of Buselik taqsim, İzzettin Ökte performed a distinctive performing style by applying the decoration techniques and ornamental elements skillfully and with the different plectrum use.
